Happy Pearl Harbor Day!!!

Does anyone else find it odd that we still remember the horrible events of Pearl Harbor on this day every year? I can see still remembering September 11th, but Pearl Harbor was like 300 years ago. Anyway, it got me thinking that I should have my own personal remembrance days. We all celebrate our personal days... birthdays, anniversaries... but why not remember the bad? I'm starting today. Here's my personal rememberance days:

Jan 8th (1979) - I ate yellow snow. Trust me kids, it only looks tasty.
March 20th (1983) - A tooth comes loose. It hangs by a string for at least an hour.
September 4th (1981) - My first day of first grade. Becky Spencer tells me I'm gross and punches me.
October 9th (1982) - Playing soccer, I find out what it feels like to get kicked in the nuts.
November (every year) - The Annual Donovan McNabb injury month.
December 23 (1983) - Brad Hunenstien tells me Santa is not real

In remembrance I plan to not work on any of these days in 2007.

300 years ago? You are really smart.

Regarding 1.8.79: Didn't you ever hear, "Watch out where those huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow"? It's saved me on more than one occasion.

i think we should all celebrate one another's days, to show our support.

and also effectively crippling society.

pix - I was only 3. I couldn't rhyme yet.

mk - sounds like a plan. November 07 is going to be a tough month for my co-workers.

I agree with Miss Kendra. Because I'm your friend, I will share in your pain and remembrance of these events. Like Dionne Warwick said "That's what friends are for."

First off, best blog name ever.
Second, while the attack on Pearl Harbor did happen 65 years ago, it has to be the most culturally significant event of the century for Americans. Like 9/11, it was an outright attack on the United States, but it wasn't a handful of violent extremists- it was a calculated military strike by a first-world nation. Pearl Harbor brought the USA into WWII, which shaped its outcome, which changed the world forever. That's why sometime between working on our Toshiba computers, driving our Volkswagens and playing Nintendo on our Sony TVs, we remember the day Japan tried to eliminate America so Germany could take over the world.
I understand that you're making a joke, but I wouldn't go down to the VFW and compare it to the day you ate yellow snow.
Finally, the Starburst porn is hi-larious!

First of all, who is Donovan McNabb? Second, Becky Spencer is now ho working the strip. Third, I'm sorry you were kicked in the nuts. I hope it was the last time.

I will be lighting a candle in remembrance of all your days. Peace out,
