Just like the fountain of youth

Tonight we went to the Trappe. It's the local college bar in my town. It made me feel just like I was 21 again. Just like a 21 year old who's back gets tired after standing for ten minutes, complains about how loud and shitty the band is, then has to leave at 11:00 to get home for the babysitter. I feel so alive!

Ah, those were the days.

But honestly, it really was much more fun in *our* day. Kids today ...

Hi, I'm my Dad.

I'm just proud of myself for being able to stay up until midnight lately.

Granted I don't get up until 8 am so this really shouldn't be a problem. But I'm still damn proud.

I know. I went down to my folks on the train this weekend to take my daughter there for the week. In my row were college freshmen (females) and I felt like their Mom. I guess if I intersperse my speech with "like" and "ya know" every other word, I'd fit right in. Nah, I'd rather be old.

If it makes you feel any better, i'm in my mid-youngish twenties and my back hurts after standing for ten minutes too and those dang kids are always playing their dang music too loud...

maybe i'm just a grouch...

When I was younger we'd look at the old guys who were reliving their youth at our favorite dance place and think he was creepy.
