One Down

Yesterday I ran in the first of the two races I signed up for. It was a 5 mile race in Valley Forge Park. Valley Forge is a historical park where battles in the revolutionary war took place. It's really hilly and was probably a great place to fight a good old fashioned war with those cannons on wheels and muskets and funny looking hats. It's not a great place to run. It's beautiful, and they never cleaned up the dead bodies, so it's fun to have to jump over those, but hills are tough when you're not used to them. I wanted to lie down and take a nap halfway through the race. But, I didn't. And I finished strong and averaged 7:18 miles and I'm ready for the 10 Miler in two weeks now. The End.

PS. What's with the surge of traffic to my site of people looking for naked pictures of Brad Pitt?

Good for you Timmeh! That is awesome. I ran for like 5 mins the other day and my body is still rejecting this form of exercise.

If you are holding out on pics I'll be pissed. Unless he has a really small penis. Then I won't bother.

You'd think after two hundred and thirty some years they'd have cleaned up those bodies...

As before, it's me looking for the Brad Pitt pic... ;)

You know it takes the government forever to do things but congrats on finishing :)

Laurie - I wrote one little post involving a picture of a naked pitt and now it's a flood of pervs.

chuck - I know it's you. I still can't get to your site from work because of your content.

mel - That's why Hilary should be elected president. All women are good at is cleaning, so those bodies will be cleaned up in a week if she's elected.

Oh great One said...

Good for you! I'm impressed!

PEER PRESSURE!

Holy shit, that's a great split man considering you were running up hills and jumping over dead bodies. Good work. What are you shooting for on the 10 miler?

You've got me beat by about 2 minutes per mile. Valley Forge Park would be a cool place to run in if it weren't for the dead bodies. Did it smell?

I got here to look at naked Brad pics, and was sorely disappointed to find a blog about some guy who works IT and runs over dead bodies like hurdles. Or maybe I was happy to find that there were no nude pictures of Tyler Durden. Nope. I'm saddened.

I had a really good comment, and then I saw the picture of Brad Pitt.

I need some alone time now.

Well damn man, I'd forgotten about that little problem. I wonder what's so wrong with my content. It's not like I post pictures of myself naked....oh, wait...never mind.

BTW, I noticed at Target they have seasons 1 and 2 of the Brit version of The Office for like $30. When I saw it Sunday it made me think of you, and how you said you'd let me borrow your's or something like that...

Dead bodies? Oh yeah we have loads of those out at the Manassas Battlefields as well. You'd think they'd have cleaned those up by now!

I once got a lot of hits on my blog from people searching "hamster sex." How gross is that?

ogo - thanks!

mk - BP wishes he looked as good as me.

egan - This run was a good test for me. I had an lofty goal of 7's, a mid goal of 7:15's and a low goal of 7:30's. I'm right where I expected. Take away the hills and add 5 miles and I'm hoping to keep the same pace. Maybe around 7:20-7:22's.

leezer - nah, they stopped smelling around the mid 1800's.

tf - disappointment is the common feeling for people that come here.

brooke - thanks anyway. Next time I won't distract you.

chuck - I would, but I don't have it. When I said I'd let you borrow it, my brother was borrowing it. He proceeded to lose season 1.

?????? - I love when I pass the sign for manasses on 95. he he. Man asses.

That's awesome Tim. When is your marathon? Are you shooting for sub 8's for the marathon?

Tim said...

No marathon plans right now. After the 10 miler I'm going to see how the next few weeks go with nothing on my schedule. My friend and I are throwing around marathon ideas for the fall, but we haven't committed yet. I did a 4:06 marathon in Philly in 2003 on about 12 weeks training without timing a single run the whole training period. If my 10 miler goes as I hope then I have a good feeling I'll start thinking about an 8 minute mile marathon when I have the proper training behind me.

Congrats Tim! That is really impressive.

Brad Pitt naked huh? Do you look like him or something?

Hello, there. I'm in the midst of blog surfing and found your site through Julie/Laurie. Your blog is hilarious! Just thought I'd drop a note. It's only polite, right?

Tim said...

nn - nah. I've posted plenty of pictures of myself here if you're ambitious enough to look for them.

katherine - I'd stay away from those two. They're bad news.

Okay, thanks for the marathon update. You're right around my pace. I did a 4:02 in my first one last year on about 12 weeks of training too. Keep up the great work Tim/Phil.
