Six Degrees of Portuguese Nation?

Today while perusing my favorite ego feeding site I noticed that I am the only English speaking link on a Portuguese blogger’s link list. So, first of all, I guess I now have to expand my six degrees of blogger nation rules to include not only English sites, but also Portuguese. Second, I’m still pondering how this makes me feel. Any link is a good link, but what if this person makes fun of me on their blog all the time. That wouldn’t be a good link. But, I have to assume there’s no mal intent here.

There’s no English at all on this person’s site. So, do they even know English? Maybe they’re learning English by reading my site! How cool would that be! I wonder if I can put that on my resume. If they’re learning the language by reading Chloraphil, they’ve made the write choice. They will be a very well speaker before long.

My next train of thought is a wonderment of what kind of stuff they write about. Most of the English speaking people that read my site have somewhat the same type of humor that I have. This Portuguesean must be a pretty funny guy/girl themself. So, through the magic of alta vista I translated something they’ve written recently. Here’s an excerpt:

“I likes wine. Me like wines and sheep cheese. The most popular cheese of Portugal! Pork meat is also very popular in my home land. Actually, just because I speak Portuguese doesn’t mean I live in Portugal, but we’ll just make that assumption for now. Want to know another one of my favourites? Pastries! Portugese people are sweet toothed! My last favourite thing I like is Starburst Porn!”

At least that’s what I think alta vista translated it as. It only translated every other word, so I just filled in the blanks.

Great translation!

Possibly the person wants to attract readers who speak English and Portugese and believes that your link is his/her ticket. Either that or he/she is retarded.

I likes wine too, but I'm not so keen on the sheep cheese.

Perhaps foreign students will all start being told to visit Chloraphil as a learning resource - maybe not such a good thing - think of the responsibility.

Ya know, speaking of Starburst porn, how about some? It's been a while.
I have a jar full of Starburst at home, don't make me break it out and try to steal your thunder with my own Starburst porn.

That seems like a viable translation. Although I think it's "favorite" not "favourite" if you're translating it into Pennsyvanian.

vof - are you saying only retards link to me?

just - I can handle it! My roommate in college was Japanese. He was over here learning English so he could go back to Japan and be a teacher. If he's teaching English right now the whole country of Japan is in trouble.

funqi - this week will mark 7 months since I've done them. They're a pain in the ass. Creating a storyline is hard, creating positions is harder, creating new positions is impossible.

Whoops. Sorry that was me with a dupe post up above. I know you love reading my comments but I'll spare you the repeats.

pix - I purposely used the u. I thought that made it more international.

I see I thought you were translating it into "Choraphil" not "Fuzzy Muffin". Perhaps they share the same dilect?

Blogger didn't like my comment so if it shows up twice it's not my fault.

You could always go to the old stand by, little starburst Pizza Delivery Boy is seduced by older startburst lady and they get freaky all over the hot and steamy pizza. No? Okay then.

I had a Portuguesean friend in college. His favorite expression when he was pissed was to tell people they could suck upon his manhood. I still remember how it sounded when spoken, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to write it.

Pix, don't take the mick out of Tim because he knows how to spell properly!

I read the first sentence and it said that they are at the end of reading Robert Ludlum's Bourne Ultimatum and then I stopped reading because someone who reads the Bourne series must be a tard. I'm kidding, sort of.

pix - fuzzy muffin is a direct descendant of chloraphil.

funqi - it's so overwhelming to think about doing them. It's a good 4 hour project to make them, position them, take pictures of them, upload, etc. Maybe someday soon. But not too soon.

jackt - awesome! did that have an awnold accent?

chuck - sounds awesome. I love when people with thick accents get pissed off.

sarah - yeah!

mel - can you read Portuguese? Portuguese is basically just wanna be spanish, right?

I think the part you had to add was about Starburst Porn. But, don't we all likes wine (metaphorically speaking)?
