Soured

I want to start this post off by telling you how much I hate cancer. I really hate cancer. It’s like, probably one of the worst diseases. Top 3 worst diseases. Cancer, AIDS, and some other disease I can’t think of right now are the top three. Not necessarily in that order.

So, naturally I was happy to see that Alex’s Lemonade stand was going to be coming to our work today. I get to have lemonade, and hate cancer at the same time. An unbeatable mix. Add the fact that Rita’s Water Ice would be here too, it’s pretty much the best cancer hating day at work ever.

So, I went out and grabbed lunch. I ate some delicious pizza and came back to work to settle in for a nice big glass of cancer hating lemonade. Unfortunately, my optional 2 dollar donation didn’t exactly yield me that tall, refreshing glass I was hoping for.

You get to wear t-shirts to work? And buy overpriced lemonade that fights cancer? You are so lucky.

It's "Casual Summer"! We can wear anything but shorts. Shorts on Fridays only. But we hate cancer 7 days a week!

Ok I am sure I missed something. I mean I hate Cancer but why are you writing it so much in your blog? Did I miss something personal going on?

ss - no. I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea that I'm complaining about donating $2.

Oh great One said...

You look so serious! You must be working hard or maybe your a little peeved at dropping 2 bucks for that little cup. Hmm...

Tim:
That lemonaide SUCKS. But you're fighting cancer. Rock on.

Tim, I hate cancer so much that I write it in the memo of every check.

"I Hate Cancer" it always says.

That way I really get the point across, and no one that likes cancer will cash my checks.

ogo - it's difficult to put on a cancer hating face while enjoying a delicous lemonade.

vof - yeah. Tasty lemonade, but sucky sized lemonade.

tpp - how sweet would it be if that giraffe Geoffrey from Toys R Us loved cancer? That way, you could buy all the toys you wanted, and he'd never cash the checks because he'd be embarassed to have people think he's a cancer hater.

Necrotizing Fasciitus would be number three.

Ahhh gotcha. We all know that now you are a cancer hater and that it's ok to get upset by paying $2 for a teeny tiny cup of lemonade. Word

Disease number 3? Cystic Fibrosis! It's genetic and most folks with it don't get live to see their '30s. Go check out what I'm doing for the Foundation.

Cancer gets a bad rap, I mean, natural selection, yo. Just kidding, I hate cancer as much as you do, probably even more because last year I bought freakin' Alex's Lemonade like five times.

I'm kind of on the fence about cancer.

What a swizz. Still, at least it was lemonade - we just gave blood at my office and all we got was crappy supermarket-own brand orange cordial. And a biscuit. And a smug feeling.

mad e - I'd agree with you if I knew what that was. Sounds bad though.

queen - yes, I had a friend die from that a few years ago. Thats a pretty shitty one.

mel - holy cancer hater!

cl - I was up in the air for a while too. If you look at the facts though, it actually kills more people than it helps.

just - you know all that blood just goes to the vampires, right? They've grown lazy in recent years and hired people to extract it for them.

A.K.A. "The flesh eating desease."

What an enjoyable sip, that looks to be.

At least the cup is yellow.

At least it wasn't a Dixie cup?!

(No so good at the upbeat comments today, I guess.) ;)

I always love pics of people where they work. I want to wear what you wear to work! Are you wearing any pants?

Tim said...

mad e - oh... yeah, that one's no walk in the park.

conti - tasty indeed.

hk - everyone was supposed to wear yellow for the day too. I forgot.

lulu - it was BARELY bigger than a dixie.

chick - thanks. It took about 10 shots to get the right amount of pissed.

vof - does a speedo count as pants?

You don't really seem to be enjoying your cancer hating lemonade.
